New Gloucester Maine – The Gray New Gloucester Development Corporation (GNGDC) in cooperation with the Coolidge Family Farm in New Gloucester, Austin Street Brewing, and M.A.N.E. Catering in Gray, is hosting its first ever Farm to Table Beer Pairing Dinner on Saturday the fifth of May at the Coolidge Family Farm.

The five-course dinner includes: Ale Steamed Mussels with Garlic & Beer Mustard; Roasted Beet & Arugula Salad with Goat Cheese & Champagne Vinaigrette; Roasted Apple & Butternut Squash Soup with Cayenne Candied Pecans; Beer-Brined Double Thick Pork Chop with Chipotle Maple Glaze over Sweet Potato Puree & Roasted Brussels Sprout with Caramelized Shallots, and a Jumbo Salted Caramel Brownie with Fresh Whipped Cream for dessert.

The pairing dinner is one of 2 major fund-raisers the GNGDC conducts to support it’s Grow GNG annual business challenge. The winner of the Grow GNG competition is awarded up to a $10,000 matching forgivable load and several thousand dollars’ worth of in-kind business support products and services. The 2017 winner is Empower Chiropractic in New Gloucester.

The GNGDC’s second fund-raiser is the GNG Local Magazine which is an annual publication that showcases the quality of life and place of Gray and New Gloucester as both a vacation destination and a great place to live and conduct business. Advertising space is still available for the 2018/2019 edition.

“We are so excited to offer this first ever beer pairing dinner,” commented GNGDC President, Tracy Scheckel, “This year’s Grow GNG Challenge has 2 beer related applicants, and New Gloucester will also be home to NU Brewing sometime this year. This dinner is a perfect way to showcase our agricultural economy and begin to make way for what appears to be a growing brewing economy in the region.”

Nichole Stevens is another member of the GNGDC who knows a bit about beer, she and her husband Mark founded the Maine Beer Tours which was recently purchased by The Maine Brew Bus. “I think our Farm to Table Beer Paring event offers a crystal ball look into the future of our communities,” commented Nichole, “We are basically an agricultural community and with so many synergies between the brewing industry and agriculture, the region is prime for more brew-centric businesses.”

In addition to Coolidge Family Farm, Austin Street brewing, and M.A.N.E Catering, local sponsors include: OTELCO. There are still sponsorships available, contact Tracy Scheckel at

Tickets for the GNGDC Farm to Table Dinner and Beer Pairing $65/person) will be available at Eventbrite by late March. This is a 21+ event and seating is limited to 100.
